Many of the people we work with recognise these patterns:

Emotions

Emotional ups and downs: fast spikes, rejection sensitivity (RSD), and at times long recoveries after small triggers.

Focus

Initiation paralysis: knowing the task, stuck at the start point with avoidance, or feeling unable to leave a task.

Time

Time blindness: underestimating durations, missed deadlines, and constant catching up.

Energy

Variable capacity: crashes, sensory overload, and burnout from pushing past limits.

Masking

Masking strain: performing ‘normal’, monitoring every move, and quiet exhaustion.

Direction

Decision overload: too many options, fear of the wrong choice, and feeling stuck.

What we work with

Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Social wellbeing. All connected.

MakeRoomFor™ Coaching & Programmes work across four interconnected areas of wellbeing. We look at how you think, feel, and how you respond across what life areas you choose to bring to sessions.

Emotional

How you handle your daily activities, control intensity levels, and recover.

Mental

How do you understand your mind, patterns, and your ADHD?

Physical

Your energy, your nervous system, and your environments.

Social

Your relationships, communication, and sense of belonging.

Positive Psychology coaching brings it all together — we focus on building Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment & Health (PEMAH Model), and the VIA Character Strengths framework to identify your key strengths to use across your daily life and plans for the future.

FAQ's

Not sure what to expect? These answers might help you feel more confident as you begin.

nded in Positive Psychology, not clinical therapy. We focus on building emotional regulation skills, identifying strengths, and creating practical strategies for daily life. Joe is a BACP-registered Counsellor, but this service is delivered as coaching — forward-looking, strengths-based, and structured around your goals.

Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis? No. Many people come to us while waiting for assessment, after self-identifying, or with a recent diagnosis they're still making sense of. What matters is that you recognise the patterns and want support with them.

How do sessions work? Sessions are online, one-to-one, and run for 50 minutes. We meet weekly or fortnightly depending on what works for you. There's no fixed programme — we work with what you bring and build from there.

How much does it cost? £70 per session. A sliding scale is available for those who need it — just ask. No judgement.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule? Life with ADHD is unpredictable. We ask for 24 hours notice where possible, but we understand that things come up. Get in touch and we'll sort it out.

Is this only for people with ADHD? Our coaching is designed around the ADHD experience, but we also work with people who identify as neurodivergent more broadly — including those with autism, or who are exploring what neurodivergence means for them.

How long do people usually work with you? It varies. Some people come for 6-8 sessions around a specific challenge. Others stay longer as things shift and new priorities emerge. There's no minimum commitment and no lock-in.

I've tried therapy before and it didn't help. How is this different? A lot of traditional therapy wasn't designed with ADHD brains in mind. We use Positive Psychology — which means we start with what's strong about you, not what's wrong. Sessions are practical, direct, and built around how your brain works, not a neurotypical model of how it should.

What happens in the first session? We talk. You tell us what's going on, what's been hard, and what you want to be different. We start to map your patterns and strengths, and we'll usually introduce the VIA Character Strengths assessment. No forms to fill in beforehand. Just show up.

Can I get in touch before committing? Yes. Send a message through the site and we'll have an informal conversation first. No obligation.

Is this Therapy?

Therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s for anyone curious about growth, clarity, or navigating life’s changes with more support and self-awareness.

What can I expect from the first session?

What can I expect from the first session?

The first session is a gentle starting point. You’ll talk with your therapist about what brings you here, what you’re hoping for, and what feels comfortable for you right now.

Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?

Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?

Yes. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face or from the comfort of home, we offer flexible options to meet you where you are.

How often should I come to therapy?

How often should I come to therapy?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come weekly, others bi-weekly or monthly. You and your therapist will decide what feels right based on your needs and pace.

Is everything I share kept private?

Is everything I share kept private?

Yes. Your sessions are completely confidential, except in very rare cases related to safety. Your privacy is always a priority.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

That’s okay. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Sometimes just showing up is the most important first step — and your therapist will guide you from there.

Progress doesn’t always feel like progress. Sometimes it’s showing up. Sometimes it’s pausing. But each moment of awareness becomes part of the path forward — and you don’t have to walk it alone.

Didn’t find your answer? Send us a message — we’ll respond with care and clarity.

"Your sessions helped me see what was important and what I needed to do to change things for the long run. Then you helped me make that change" (Client, ADHD).

I really value the time that is given for me to share both my mental and physical struggles, have those feelings and emotions acknowledged and validated but then to know I don't have to sit and dwell in those feelings. It feels empowering knowing that each week, they are acknowledged and given a polite nod before seeking affirmative action on my part. ." (Client,).
